It’s time for the ninth annual Self-Publish Fantasy Blog-Off and I’m thrilled to announce that The Apex Cycle 1: BETA is one of the 300 contestants! And it’s already been selected as a finalist in the Cover Art Contest!

From June 2023 until Spring 2024, ten bloggers will make their way through 300 indie fantasy books, each choosing a finalist from their allotment of 30 books. The Blog-Off was created by author Mark Lawrence. Follow along with his blog here, where he explains the process and phases.

You can see a visual break-down (with links!) of the blog groupings at author Zack Argyle’s website here.

BETA has been assigned to the blogCovers with Cassidy. You can follow Cassidy on Youtube or watch her video below on how she’s running her team of six book bloggers. As she explains, she’s divided her thirty assigned books among her team so that each book gets read twice. At the end of August, the six bloggers will each select a semi-finalist for Cassidy to read. From that pool, Cassidy will choose the team’s Finalist to move onto Phase 2 of SPFBO.

The image below gives a visual on the allotment of books being reviewed by the Covers with Cassidy Team.

Whatever the outcome, I can’t wait to follow along and see all the love for indie fantasy books over the coming months. It’s exciting just to be among such great company in terms of the other competing books and authors. I hope you follow along, too!
